The scope of the activity is limited to perform a cost-benefit analysis at an evaluation point as well as monitoring and coordination of potential pilot implementations.

Outside this activity, individual Toll Chargers and EETS-Providers may perform testing and implementation activities of a REETS solution. In this regard the role of the project is limited to monitoring and facilitation. The evaluation point consists of a cost benefit analysis on investments and possible testing/implementation steps and is carried out by the Project Management Team in cooperation with Toll Chargers and EETS Providers.

The steps for the testing/implementation to be performed by single market players are:

•    Toll Charger Implementation
•    Eligibility according to Art 3 of the Decision 750/2009/EC.
•    Contract Negotiations
•    (prospective) EETS-Provider Implementation
•    Suitability I – Inspection / Interface
•    Suitability II – End-to-End tests / Trial Operations / Pilot Operations

The results of Activity 8 are summarised in half-yearly progress reports, covering the activities, listed above.
